LARRYS CREEK TRACK

ABOUT THIS TRACK

This track starts at the end of a 6 km-long forestry road which turns off SH69, just north of Awarau or Larry River, approximately 16 km north of Reefton. Note: the forestry road is rough with a few small fords.

Follow the true right bank of Awarau or Larry River, winding through beech forest and ending at the historic Caledonian Mine. Historic remnants include a steam engine and a quartz stamping battery. Take care crossing Awarau or Larry River.

Dogs allowed with DOC permit.

There are a few waterlogged parts at the start of the track but otherwise the track is in great condition.
